Like all Worthington's beers, William Worthington's White Shield is brewed 'By Appointment to HM The Queen'.
William Worthington's White Shield has kept its award winning pedigree alive in 2006, being awarded "Champion Bottle Conditioned Beer of Britain" at the annual Great British Beer Festival in Earls Court, London.
“White Shield richly deserved its award: it's a classic India Pale Ale, brewed in Burton-on-Trent since the 19th century and a beer of historic importance, part of a style that revolutionised brewing on a world scale.” Roger Protz, The Guardian
It is William Worthington's White Shield's second gold medal in just three years, having secured top prize in the 2003 International Beer Competition - the Industry's only awards programme for packaged beers.
